The following lists the blue printing and machine work done to my LT1 and new specifications.

  • Block
    • Strip/degrease and magnaflux block
    • De-burr block and open-up oil returns
    • Shot-peen block
    • Tap valley vents/oil galleys and chase all threads
    • Align-hone mains
    • Re-surface block deck and intake rails
    • Bore block and hone-fit pistons with torque plates
    • Install frost plugs, galley plugs and oil return screen kit
    • Install cam bearings
  • Rotating Assembly
    • Magnaflux crankshaft and check straightness
    • Regrind crankshaft and polish/chamfer
    • Magnaflux connecting rods
    • Install rod bolts and re-size rods 
    • Weight match rods and pistons
    • Relieve piston tops and glass bead
    • Balance complete rotating assembly
  • Cylinder Heads/Intake Manifold
    • Strip and degrease cylinder heads
    • Remove pressed-in rocker studs
    • De-burr head castings
    • Magnaflux head castings
    • Shot-peen head castings
    • Chase all threads
    • Machine stud bosses for guide plates and tap for studs
    • Enlarge pushrod holes for clearance
    • Machine spring seats for 1.437" springs 
    • Machine guides for clearance and .531" seals
    • Install bronze guide-liners
    • Machine seats for larger valves
    • Multi-angle performance valve job 
    • Un-shroud combustion chamber 
    • Bowl cut and clean-up
    • Machine 30 degree back-cut on valves
    • Re-shape combustion chambers and polish
    • Gasket-match intake ports
    • Re-shape and fully port & polish exhaust runners
    • Hand blend bowls to accommodate larger valves
    • Resurface to achieve desired compression ratio
    • Set spring installed heights and pressures
    • Flow cylinder heads and c.c. chambers
    • Degrease intake manifold and glass bead
    • Port-match intake manifold runners 
    • Resurface intake manifold
    • Modify valve covers for clearance
  • Assembly
    • Check piston to valve clearance and degree camshaft
    • File fit piston rings
    • Modify and install windage tray 
    • Modify and install rev kit 
    • Precision assemble long block complete with intake 
    • Test stand run-in
